A distributed temperature monitoring system across 50+ Guangzhou locations

In June 2021, P20 mobilized a field team to connect more than 50 separate observation points to one centralized continuous temperature monitoring workflow.

The challenge: keeping 50+ sites on one way of recording readings

A network of more than 50 locations can fail in 50 different ways if each site assigns devices, records readings and reports exceptions differently. The technical platform therefore had to be paired with a repeatable field process.

P20 began with operator briefings, equipment allocation and device-assignment checks. Giving every location the same starting workflow made the information arriving at the central monitoring platform easier to trust, compare and act on.

The solution: centralizing all sites’ readings in one dashboard

With every site following the same setup, the central team no longer had to assemble updates from separate paper records or independent spreadsheets. Continuous readings from every wearable device arrived through one information layer, giving coordinators a consistent view across the full deployment.

Every location followed the same setup and the same check before going live, so readings arriving at the centre could be compared site by site as the network grew.

  • Common setup and verification steps across every location
  • Central visibility without checking each site separately
  • A deployment model that can be adapted to campuses, care networks and multi-site facilities

How we did it: brief, hand out devices, connect, check

The field team turned a large distributed project into a sequence that could be verified location by location.

1

Brief local operators

Confirm responsibilities, device handling and the exception process before monitoring begins.

2

Assign equipment

Match wearable devices and connectivity equipment to the people and workflow at each location.

3

Connect the site

Bring local temperature data into the same centralized information system used across the network.

4

Verify visibility

Confirm that readings and status can be seen from the shared operating view before handover.

The result: live readings from all 50+ sites, set up by one field team

The monitoring system created value because local work and central oversight were designed together from the start.

More than 50 locations followed the same operating process

Continuous temperature information reached one centralized view

One field team brought every site from equipment delivery to live monitoring, location by location

Coordinators could compare and act on site data without collecting reports site by site
