At the National Aquatics Center, P20 gave venue teams continuous temperature visibility for staff and volunteers without adding repeated manual checkpoints to a demanding event schedule.
The challenge: reliable monitoring inside a fast-moving venue
The National Aquatics Center carried the most competition sessions and the longest schedule of the Beijing 2022 competition venues. Staff, volunteers and technical teams moved through long operating days in an environment where a separate manual check for every reading would have interrupted work.
Venue operators needed more than a thermometer. They needed a background temperature monitoring system that could collect readings continuously, surface an exception quickly and remain dependable throughout the operating period.
How we supported it: an on-site team from test events into the Games
The P20 technical team prepared the equipment, helped assign devices to staff and volunteers, and stayed on site for the whole operating window — adapting the workflow to what the venue actually needed, including attendance, access and personnel-location records.
Over 30 days of test events, the team kept the hardware sensors and the monitoring software running steadily, proving the routine in real venue conditions before the competition schedule began. The 2 g wearable temperature sensor then went with venue operators into the Games.
